JOB TITLE : French Language Instructor LOCATION : George C. Marshall Center/PLTCE, Breitenauerstr 16, 82467, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. DUTIES : The language instruction shall reflect current usage of the language in the target language country. The topic of “culture” shall be treated as it contributes to proper understanding of a text or message and as it becomes critical in the ability to effectively transmit a message and to interact appropriately with native speakers. The focus is on communicative competence using functional, task-based language and activities although some explicit treatment of grammar and vocabulary might be required. The instruction shall include oral communication, pronunciation, structure, listening and reading comprehension, writing, as well as special skills development such as gisting, translation, interpretation and transcription. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS : Fluency in French and English Languages. Shall have an adequate educational background in foreign-language pedagogy to provide advanced language training to adult learners. Bachelor’s degree or higher (MA or PhD is highly desired) in: Teaching French as a Foreign Language. five years or more of significant, recent, and relevant experience in teaching French to foreign, adult learners. Police Good Conduct Certificate. If the proposed substitute is not a German citizen – the equivalent of the Police Good Conduct Certificate shall be translated into English and notarized.
