Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Head of Revenue Management & Distribution EMEA to join our team in Berlin, Germany. Job Summary The Head of Revenue Management & Distribution serves to create and execute an effective revenue & distribution strategy for EMEA that maximizes Wyndham's revenue, profitability, and competitive advantage and grows the RevPAR Index (market share) for each hotel in the EMEA portfolio where applicable and works towards achieving Wyndham´s EBITDA target. This involves leadership of two distinct areas of work Revenue Management (RM) both in Operations (back-office support for developing revenue management tools and systems) and the evolution of our Revenue Management Services (RMS) and in Distribution by managing and optimizing electronic distribution networks across all the properties in EMEA. This is a senior role requiring strategy and leadership ability, responsible for developing and executing the organization's strategic revenue and distribution initiatives to achieve EMEA goals and objectives. The individual in this role will work closely with senior management to define the organization's revenue and distribution direction and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. The preferred location for this role is Berlin, however alternative locations in Europe may be considered. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement the organization's revenue and distribution strategic plan and roadmap, in alignment with our EMEA Compass. • Lead and facilitate strategic planning sessions with key stakeholders to define priorities and set goals for the function. • Evaluate market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and growth. • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management in making key business decisions related to Revenue & Distribution. • Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives and monitor progress towards achieving strategic objectives. • Effectively communicate our strategic plans and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives and drive performance improvements. • Mentor and develop team members to build a strong pipeline of future leaders within the team. Functional Responsibilities Revenue Management The role holder should power and empower RM in EMEA to achieve commercial edge and contribution goals through: • Oversight of rate plans available to all hotels in EMEA including collaboration with Head Office Revenue Management on strategic design and implementation of new rate plans to address market requirements of hotels. • Develops close relationships with key partners providing revenue management support including rate plan consultations, systems set up, and strategies to optimize revenue performance. • Ensures training for Operations and Hotel teams on Rate Plans available to hotels including best practices and revenue management strategies. • Selection and oversite of 3rd party Revenue Management Service Providers delivering tools & reporting systems to hotels in EME to ensure seamless connectivity to bring a significant advantage to WHR and Franchisees • Close collaboration with EMEA leaders in Commercial Planning, Sales & Marketing to align strategies to drive Wyndham Contribution. • Representation at industry forums and events related to revenue management best practices and industry trends. • Management of Corporate Revenue Manager and Revenue Management Operations Specialist, providing direction on technical expertise, prioritization of projects and project management. Revenue Management Services • Management of 2 RM & Key Account Directors leading the teams that provide RM fee-based RM services to participating hotels in the EMEA region. • Strategic review of the service requirements, levels, pricing, and waivers. • Oversight of service quality and delivery against the overall value proposition to participating hotels. Functional Responsibilities (cont'd) Distribution • Coordinate planning and delivery of pricing promotions across all channels. Review promotions strategy to avoid channel conflict and protect overall channel strategy whilst ensuring full rate parity across all channels. • Partner with Commercial Planning team to design and deliver centrally designed business intelligence tools to support reporting and analysis across Commercial functions. • Engage RM & Distribution team with Operations to streamline engagement with hotels, including ad hoc support and business reviews. • Represent RM & Distribution team as liaison with shared service functions managed at HQ including BI reporting, My Request, and ad hoc projects. • Oversee Commercial set up and implementation for New Hotel Openings. Ensure close collaboration between Commercial, Operations, New Hotel Openings, and IT teams to drive efficient and effective support of hotel conversions and new hotel openings. • Drive strategic distribution opportunities and best practices for Wyndham hotels across EMEA working closely with global Distribution team and other EMEA Commercial functions. • Manage relationships with existing regional distribution counterparts including OTAs and Wholesalers to optimise static and dynamic rate plans, elevate Wyndham brand placement, and ensure rate integrity. • Develop new relevant direct connect partners to diversify distribution portfolio and maximise channel reach. • Develop and share distribution best practices with Operations and hotel contacts via webinars and presentation materials to optimise hotel content display including descriptions, quality scores, photo assets and other attributes that drive search returns. • Assist Development teams to understand potential for prospective hotels and provide clear understanding of distribution channels and commercial agreements. • Monitor and communicate industry trends, seeking opportunities to position Wyndham as a market leader in industry forums on RM & Distribution strategy. Complexity • Decision-making authority is at a high level, given this role is accountable for strategic design or rate plans and systems impacting revenue generation for hotels. • Acts as supervisor and mentor to RM & Distribution Analyst(s) and Specialist(s) and Manager(s) • Work consists of strategic planning, analysis, and training plus oversite of routine tasks, processes, and operations. The employee defines and delivers clearly prescribed, standard policies and procedures. Requires strategic thinking and analysis to put forward options for review with internal and external stakeholders and line management. • Problems are sometimes complex and involve a mix of solutions ranging from a set of pre-designed options to bespoke developments. • Work requires active involvement in projects that result in new ideas or methods. Improved methods generally affect the hotel’s financial performance and immediate department. • Serves as a project team member working to achieve defined goals. • Require regular contact with property designated contacts; interaction within the department and periodic contacts with other departments, supplying or seeking information on specialized matters. • Involves supervisory responsibilities of two teams. Scope/ Financial Responsibility • The position has a revenue impact as it relates to ensuring Brand Standards, Revenue Management & Distribution Policies and Best Practices. All these are designed to generate incremental revenues, customer loyalty, and increase brand awareness for properties while minimizing opportunity costs of not having adequate rates and inventory available for sale across various channels. • This position and its direct reports have an impact on a hotel’s top line revenues. Experience/ Certificates/ Education • BA/BS bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics or demonstrable senior level experience within Revenue Management, Data Management, Reservations, or Front Office • Must have experience in navigating multiple brand and franchise operations. • Experience in e-commerce and distribution, ideally with experience of the Online Travel Agency operating environment. • Experience managing key account relationships. • Global Acumen demonstrating ability to effectively work across different cultures and teams. • Multiple hotel Revenue Management experience • Has knowledge of office or operational procedures. Performs basic typing/word-processing, bookkeeping, checking of charts or records and posting of information to a database/spreadsheet, following instructions. Familiarity with MS Office (Excel and word) is necessary. • Experience with hotel property management systems or central reservation systems. • Hospitality industry experience preferred. • Proficient in Revenue Management systems, hotel property management systems, and industry related reports • Fluency in English is essential. Additional languages would also be beneficial. Organisational Relationships The Head of Revenue Management & Contribution EMEA will report directly to the VP Commercial Performance & Revenue EMEA.
