As part of our Shared Services group, comprised of Finance, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Commercial, Legal and Facilities, we support the business achieve their goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure delivery of services through the skills of our people, methodologies, and systems. Hatch is seeking a Human Resources Advisor to oversee all aspects of HR delivery across the country as we embark on an ambitious growth plan to increase our presence in Europe over the next few years. Based in Essen, this role will join a capable European HR team that has members in London, Germany and Poland advising the business on people matters both transactional and strategic. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, European Region, you will partner with other HR colleagues both locally and globally while also developing relationships with staff and leaders in the Essen office. Your areas of focus will be: Operations • Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees for all front-line HR inquiries ranging from (but not limited to) benefits, payroll, recruitment and vacation time-off • Ensure Hatch is locally compliant from an HR perspective while also championing and following Hatch global processes by preparing and processing administrative documentation on an as-needed basis (supported by the HR Service Center) • Maintain periodic HR metrics reporting for local leadership • Escalate or redirect employee inquiries appropriately where further guidance or approvals are necessary • Executing and championing national and global HR programs within the region, which includes the annual salary review process, career development and performance management. Employee Relations • Act as the main point of contact for employees in Germany for personnel matters ranging from grievances, terminations and performance improvement plans • Ensure you are knowledgeable on Hatch’s global policies and procedures and can guide employees through day-to-day issues with reference to those policies and procedures , namely the code of conduct and the Hatch manifesto • Coaching managers in the areas of diversity, selection, giving and receiving feedback, talent development, employment issues, team development, etc. HR Strategy • Act as the a local champion for all global HR initiatives and process and ensure those processes are implemented successfully • Participate on HR project teams on an as-needed basis related to process improvement or process maintenance • Work with local business leaders to ensure HR understands their needs to support growth and keep all relevant HR stakeholders informed of relevant changes or updates • Increasing the capacity and added value of the regional HR team to support future business growth. Relationship Building • Playing an active role as a member of the global HR team, contributing to strategy development and leading national initiatives where appropriate. • Building and fostering relationships with the global HR team and local business employees • Champion HR in the region and act as an ambassador for global HR leadership • Partner effectively with HR practices (TA, Mobility, Compensation, PD) to deliver seamless and competent local service to the business • Live the Manifesto and champion its virtues in the office Qualifications required for this role include • A Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Human Resources Management or a related discipline; • At least 7 years’ experience as an HR professional in a knowledge-intensive workplace,.
