Sr. Engineer, RCA (Route Cause Analysis) – GSK, Germany DEPARTMENT The Technical department is responsible for the Integrity, Reliability, Sustainability and Quality Assurance of the entire site Sabic Polyolefine GmbH in Gelsenkirchen. It consists of six sub-teams with approx. 60 employees. JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES This exciting role as Sr. Engineer RCA (Route Cause Analysis) gives you the opportunity to BE THE IMPACT by building capability within the organization to eliminate defects and improve learning from incidents of the Gelsenkirchen assets as well as from incidents of Sabic’s global assets. Therefore, beyond actual reliability issues, you will ensure proactive RCA studies based on eg. common theme analysis over all Sabic sites to build a high-reliability organization (HRO) in Gelsenkirchen. To do so, you ENGAGE with several stakeholders within and beyond the Gelsenkirchen organization such as EHSS, Operations, Sabic’s Center of Excellence (CoE), Technology & Innovation and many others. In your function, you will DELIVER a continuous improvement of the reliability performance of our assets based on RCA analysis. Your in-depth technical knowledge combined with your convincing and open personality enables you to DELIVER a valuable contribution in our reliable business in the future. The ideal candidate has RCA methodology knowledge in addition. This task mainly includes Efficient and effective facilitation of RCAs Coach and mentor the RCA team and effectively manage their roles and responsibilities and required resources Ensure quality RCAs and follow-up on recommendations and gap closure plans Report status of RCA recommendations locally to the Leadership team as well as globally eg to the Center of Excellence Close cooperation and high engagement with different departments across Sabic (e.g. Technical, Maintenance, Operations, EHSS, Center of Excellence, T&I, etc) Being the site RCA focal point on site Gelsenkirchen MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree or Equivalent in the area of Process Engineering along with several years of experience in the chemical industry (ideally in Germany) Excellent Conceptual, Communication and Analytical Skills Fluency (both written and Oral) in German and English Minimum 3+ years Industrial RCA experience and/or similar position(s) Excellent presentation and network skills Proficiency in IT/various connecting IT systems such as Office, SAP, reporting, etc Experience with working in multi cultural and diverse environment An ideal candidate for this position provides the following attributes, well reflected in your professional experience: Attitude of compliance with legal, regulatory and SABIC internal requirements Ability to effectively communicate and ENGAGE with different stakeholders, internally and externally High motivation and strongly interested in process engineering and asset reliability Highly committed to improve the operating conditions and the asset reliability of the site Gelsenkirchen based on RCA analysis High sense of responsibility High level of self-organization skills and proactivity INSPIR ation skills Strong and cooperative team player Natural leadership Systematic, independent and responsible working style Ability to identify and consequently follow priorities Location: Gelsenkirchen, Germany Travel: up to 15% (regionally) FURTHER INFORMATION Interested in this position?
